At the KPDSB, it’s important to us that families in need are aware of, and can access, community supports available to them. On this page, you will find names and contact information for different organizations that can assist in supporting families in acquiring basic needs like food and emergency shelter.
Emergency Child Care is available to essential workers who meet the criteria as outlined by the Province of Ontario and who have no other child care options. For more information, please click here to access an emergency childcare application through the Kenora District Services Board.
Please see the information below from FIREFLY:
FIREFLY offices remain closed to the public in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19; however, we are pleased to advise that we are continuing to offer services to children, youth and families in all our communities. We will be providing these services virtually utilizing either telephone or video-conferencing, depending on the client’s preference. This means that children, youth and families can receive services from the comfort of their own homes.
FIREFLY continues to accept referrals from third-parties and families and youth. You can visit the website at www.fireflynw.ca > Access to Services to see all the ways you can reach out to our Centralized Intake.
Our intake line remains open. For referrals or to connect with a service, please contact our FIREFLY Centralize Intake line at 1-833-696-5437.
